Here's the strange thing about fire: it's hollow. It's a three-dimmensional cone that moves up an invisible "Jacob's Ladder" and disappears into flecks of carbon. Fire is extremely hot carbon molecules. From the realistic point of view, I would say you captured all this rather well, especially considering you used a mouse instead of your magical hands.
From an artistic point of view, I think this is a beautiful piece of work. I only have one question: since this work is called "Candle's Light", where is the candle? I see a match head. Well, the two share names in other languages, so I SUPPOSE that's of no consequence <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)"/>
I must say, I like what I see. You appear to understand the nature of fire quite well. I would encourage you to be careful not to emphasize the base of the flame too much, because many times (especially atop match heads) it fades from the visible light spectrum very quickly. Still, you accurately portrayed the change in intensity as it wove up its tongue. The flame is neither too big nor two bright. The proportions are all there. You also correctly colored the flame, demonstrating this is a chemical fire, which is the case with lit matches.
I must commend you on your bravery: flame, like water, can be very difficult to draw, especially since you're using an unfamiliar medium. You paid good attention to detail, even with the backdrop. I cannot tell if that is a wall or empty space behind the match, but I rather like it that way.
Your technique was somewhat lacking, but that is entirely acceptable considering your relative newness to digital art. And you still did a wonderful job.
Impact...ah, candle light plays on my emotions. I find this work saturated with tranquility. Is that what you were going for? Whatever it was, I love it. This is going in my favorites.
